 FAQ’s

What’s the difference between henna and tint?

Henna is a more natural approach to colouring the brow (more toxin-free than tint), however it can give a stronger look. Just like tint the colour can be adjusted to achieve your desired look, have a chat with Jess about what would work best for you.

Please note it is recommended if you haven’t had Henna before that you patch test at least 24hrs prior to your appointment.

How long will tint last? How long will Henna last?

Tint will last on the skin for 1-2 days and on the hair for 3-4 weeks. Henna will last on the skin for 1-2 weeks and on the hair for 4-6 weeks. Longevity can be dependant on depth of colour desired (the darker the colour initially the longer it will last), as well as home-care, products you’re using, sun exposure and exercise.

Can I tan before my brow appointment?

It’s best to avoid tan on the face before your brow shaping as both tint and henna will react and effect the development of the colour (often throws an orange colour on the skin under the brow hairs).

i can’t have wax- can i still get my brows shaped?

Absolutely, we can offer a tweeze only option, please advise in the comments section when making an online booking.

How do I avoid post-wax breakouts?

Let us know when having your brow shaping if you break out and we can adjust the products during your treatment time.

After leaving, try and avoid touching the area as bacteria can enter the open follicle and cause small white head pimples. It’s a great idea to cleanse the area with something astringent (like witch hazel or a toner for breakout prone skin), or even apply a breakout cream to the area which will help kill any bacteria and minimise breakouts developing.

Makeup after a brow shaping is personal preference but can often contribute to breakouts.
